Consumer Education and Advocacy

Consumer Education and Advocacy

We empower consumers through education and advocacy by providing information on their rights and responsibilities. Our programs include workshops, awareness campaigns, and resource materials that equip consumers with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions and safeguard their interests.

Consumer Seminars

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) consistently conducts a series of Consumer Education and Advocacy Seminars aimed at promoting consumer welfare and protection. These seminars are designed to equip individuals with essential knowledge on their rights and responsibilities as consumers. They cover a wide range of topics, including product safety, consumer rights protection, financial literacy, and how to avoid fraudulent schemes. Through these seminars, DTI seeks to empower participants with practical tools and skills to navigate the marketplace confidently, ensuring that they make informed decisions and avoid potential pitfalls, especially in an increasingly digital environment.

COASTAL CLEAN UP DRIVE 2025 IN CELEBRATION OF WORLD CONSUMER RIGHTS DAY

On March 15, 2025, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Albay Provincial Office organized a Coastal Clean-Up Drive in celebration of the 2025 World Consumer Rights Day. The event was held at the coastal area of Brgy. Rawis, Legazpi City, Albay, with the theme “A Just Transition to Sustainable Lifestyle.” With 150 participants taking part, the program aimed to raise awareness about environmental responsibility while promoting the importance of informed, accountable consumer choices. This initiative sought to encourage individuals to become active participants in the movement toward sustainability.

  • The clean-up drive focused on educating participants about the crucial role they play in shaping a more sustainable lifestyle. By actively engaging in environmental conservation efforts, the event emphasized the need for consumers to adopt habits that reduce their impact on the planet. It was a call to action for individuals to make conscious choices that benefit not only their immediate environment but also contribute to a global movement for sustainability. The program’s goal was to foster a community that is both environmentally aware and dedicated to preserving the future for generations to come.

Ultimately, this initiative marks a significant step toward empowering the next generation of consumers. By providing the tools and knowledge necessary to make informed, sustainable decisions, the DTI Albay hopes to cultivate a community of empowered individuals who can drive positive change. Through programs like these, the movement for a just transition to a sustainable lifestyle gains momentum, offering hope for a healthier, more responsible future for the environment.
