The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Albay Provincial Office is actively conducting Price and Supply Monitoring of Basic Necessities and Prime Commodities (BNPCs) across the province in accordance with Memorandum Circular No. 91, Series of 2025, issued by the Office of the President.
The said circular reiterates that government agencies whose personnel are responsible for the delivery of basic, vital, and health services, preparedness, and critical operations are expected to continue performing their duties to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of essential government functions, even under challenging circumstances.
In response, DTI-Albay assures the public of its continued vigilance in safeguarding consumer welfare, particularly in monitoring the availability and prices of basic necessities and prime commodities.
This proactive measure is aimed at:
• Preventing hoarding and profiteering;
• Ensuring reasonable prices of essential goods in times of emergencies;
• And maintaining stable supply in the market to protect consumers.
